Just a quick question I have a 2000 s3 and on Sunday it developed a noise that seems to be coming from the drivers side front. It sounds like wheel loose/cv joint but doesn't do it all the time, mainly does it in 3rd and 4th only when using the throttle although regardless of how much throttle you use. Turning the steering wheel seems to have no effect on it either. I have yet to get underneath and have a look I shall do that tonight but thought I would ask if anyone has experienced this before. I did check the wheels were still torqued up and they are and I grabbed the driveshaft to check for play and it seemed ok. My thoughts are inner cv joint or wheel bearing
cheers jaz

Had a quick look and there seems to be some play in the bearings on the os inner cv joint but only marginally more than the other side. Everything points to it being that. The noise etc... Screams cv joint. Are they the same as r32 and lcr?
Cheers jaz
