Location of temp sensor

Hi,

I've been having the fluctuations on the temp guage in my 98 1.8T. I've searched the forums and people have said to change the temp sensor.

However, i can't seem to find it?... Any help to its location would be most helpfull.

This has just started to happen on my A4 1.8T.

Where is the best place to source the part and likely cost?

I'll prob get mine from audi, can't imagine it costing more than £10-£20 tops for the sensor.

Vagparts will also probably have them.

same location on my S3.

not sure where you will find it on an A3, but its somewhere to start.
