    Actuater fitted and wow

Well today I spent hour and half fitting my uprated actuater and what a diffrence it's made.

Thanks to tuffty and bill for the help

My hybrid ko4 came with a standered actuater and after months of worries rang Cr turbos and they then sent me a uprated one out wich is a 10psi actuater, fitted this earlier and went out to see what it was like and what a difference feel like a new car lol.

Switched my liquid gauge in and well

    before and after

boost 11 psi now 17 psi difference 6 psi
bhp 210 now 238 bhp difference 28 bhp
torque 206 now 240 difference 34 pound of torque

well chuffed what a mod for nowt

The logs where not flat out either so probly get more if I pushed it running standered map too.

I take it my old actuater was f......cked then.

Fitting wise I had to take the bracket off and the coolant hose off the top of the turbo to get the nut out bleeding thing blag it was.

Humm... a 10psi actuator should do around 10psi if adjusted right... although they normally do a little more in reality... I assume you are still running with the N75 un-plugged as you haven't had your engine mapped for the hybrid yet?

17psi is a little high for actuator pressure tbh.... have you over adjusted the preload?

Just remember that the std map has very lean fuelling... you will be running stuff very hot and it can be very dangerous... you seriously need to get the mapping done my friend...

And surely 11psi before hand is around about normal IF its standard map and IF you had the n75 connected?

N75 is conected at the min as Paul at Rs tunning said will be ok as long as I don't rag it on the standered map.

You have more power and torque as you have more boost... its pretty much that simple mate...

Not had fantastic experiences with Forge actuators on these turbos... they have a tendency to stick and cause spikey over boost and some people have put too stiff a spring in 'to get more boost' and just ended up with rod bending spikes and no boost control...

I have not known a std actuator to fail although they do go a little soft over time... the turbo normally expires before the actuator does...

    ...and watch the preload too....

Yeah, reading back - im sceptical if it really makes that much difference.

If the car wasnt setup properly to begin with - you may just be experiencing "normal" power that is should be.

But changing the location of the acuator to get noticable power gains.....i'd have to see it to believe it.

    no no no and no

    unless yours is buggered..

adding an actuator which had more preload that stock WILL cause boost spikes..
It can help hold top end boost from what I have seen, but without some means of clipped the inevitable spike which it will also cause, you risk bendy/snapped rods.. MBC in parallel would clip this, but if you dont know what you are doing, just adding one risks your engine.
