s3 gear box feel

i used to have a 2003 audi tt 225 1.8T, great motor especially after a few subtle mods like remap, forge 007p, r32 arbs, blueflame exhaust etc. however one thing which let mine down was the gearbox, was a bit crunchy or you had to negotiate, go steady on the gear changes, as anything quick in gear would be harder or crunch type (probably a bit harsh to say crunch but can't think of any other way to describe it).

only drove one prior to mine on a gentle test drive, not sure if it was just the characteristics.

so what's the S3 gear box like in general and spirited driving?

If you use the clutch i have had no problems.....

TT and S3 use the same box so technically should be the same... however the crunching in gears is normally due to worn engine mounts (typically the dogbone one on the bottom) and uprating it to the yellow (or red) bush from powerflex improves things..
