    starter removal problem.....

    hey guys and girls, trying to change my starter motor but the nuts a rusted and stuck solid, i have sprayed with WD-40 but cant slacken them at all. I dont have access to a heat sorce. anyone have any other ideas for getting them loosened?

    Soak it to hell with the Wd and get some extra leverage on your spanner/Ratchet

    thanks guys, I have tried soaking in WD-40...no luck. I dont have eccess to and kind of heat soarce...hmmm dont know what to do now

    Go to B&Q or wherever and buy a cheap blowtorch, Doesnt have to be anything fancy.

    you might have more joy if you invest in an 18mm deep socket. With the battery tray removed, you can get the 18mm socket on there with a short extension, then use a decent length breaker bar to crack them off.

    +1 for the 18mm socket. The wheel nut wrench from the car's toolkit makes a pretty decent breaker bar when fitted over a 3/8th ratchet as well if you're on a budget
