    Replacing haldex earth question!?!?

Just started to replace the earth strap from haldex to body, just wondering...the bolt that holds the earth into the diff housing. Once removed will oil come out? As it looks like its one of the many bolts that holds the outer casing on?

    Thanks in advance peeps

Is not just a bolt around the drive shaft flange? I very much doubt and oil will come out, and even if it did it can only be a tiny bit as you are only whipping the bolt out and then putting it back in are you not.

    Don't worry nothing will happen

All done now anyway dude cheers though. Nah nothing came out, apart from a bit a crap that fell in my eye. Then twa**ed my head on exhaust clamp. Haha.

Yeah mine was snapped in half at the body end. Rest of it was really brittle too tbh.

One I brought was perfect length. Don't think that really matters though. Long as it doesn't sag and rub on rear driveshaft

Yep, done that too. Bloody painful given my lack of hair on top! Anyway, good thread, I'll add this to my list of jobs for when the sun comes out again (assuming it still exists).

Id just like to readdress this guys, where is the haldex strap located, dirvers or passengers? My s3's a prefacelift and i cant seem to see any strap but i know the 4wd works fine. So what does the strap do if the prefacelift s3's didnt have it, why do the facelift s3's need it?

Passenger... a decent earth is a good thing... and some prefacelifts had them IIRC... pretty sure I have seen them fitted... no doubt Audi deemed it necessary as a fix to some issue or other...

Hey everyone. I'm having a problem with my haldex. S3 2003 Bam engine.
When I log on VagCom 22-AWD it shows brake light switch 00526. Don't know if this is the actual fault.
Just to be sure, I will check the earth strap but I just want to know, where it is located?
    Thanks
