i got one off ebay, a motorad one. it came with the wrong o-ring, so car dumped coolant. had to replace it as opened too slowly. i would just get one from audi personally, i paid 15+vat so not like theyre hugely expensive or anything.

not hard, the thermostat is under the inlet manifold on the block. I think 2 bolts to tale the housing of the you swap it for a new one. make sure you change the o ring

If its the same as a Bam engined Cupra R they can be a pain in the arse, it is right down behind the alternator, and as Paradox says, its secured by 2 bolts, with 10mm heads i think

Can be a lot easier if you've got ball ended Allen keys or a 1/4 inch ratchet set with a 10mm socket, swivel and a few extensions

Swivel extension and it's done in half hour. I don't have one and going out to look at it earlier I though F that without and put it back together otherwise it's a pain which I couldn't be arsed with! So try again tomorrow once I've bought the flexi socket adaptor.
