battery positive lead

just been to my mechanic and noticed my battery lead to the starter is badly corroded and green where he says its rotting. i've been suffering from a slight voltage drop which could be caused by this. can i add

Halfords | Halfords Positive Battery Cable 45cm (18")

as and additional cable to the starter or would i have to remove the old one completely? tps want £50 for a replacement terminal and lead

seems expensive, would have thought you could get one made up for far less

yh that's what i thought. i brought the lead from halfords for £5 so will see how that gets on

dont know what the s3 lead is like, but on mine (tdi 110) the lead goes from the positive to the starter via an earth point on the chassis, so you may want to double check

How can the positive go via an earth point?!! You must be looking at the wrong cable!

all done now but haven't really noticed a sifference. i'm gonna do the grounding points next when the weather gets a bit warmer
