    Boost hoses and oil leek.

Hi, just trying to resolve all my current issues. I notice that when I listen to the engine at idle there is a slight hissing noise coming from the offside (I'll post a pic) and also has an oil leak. Which was noticed whilst under the car yesterday having exhaust done. Couldn't really tell where it was coming from so I'm looking to hear what the most common things are too leak. It seems to be coming from top end of engine on the drivers side.

It's the big pipe that seems to be hissing where it joins the metal pipe. So am looking to replace that and this one,

Just wondering what they are called and where's best to buy them, preferably silicone I guess? Also the piping that is just to the right of the big hose in first pic seem to have quite alot of oil around them, should they be replaced or is it just residue from the 110k the car has done?

A little oil is normal in the charge system... this is typical for a journal bearing turbo... especially one with some mileage... If you have oil in the throttle body (i.e. its dribbling out) then you may have issues...

The 'V' hose with the oil leak can be replaced with one from Forge as they split on the inside of the 'V'

The other top hoses or boost/charge hoses can be replaced with silicon ones from Forge... there are other manufacturers available of course and price varies... some cheaper brands do balloon a bit on boost though and I have seen more consistant results from the Forge items but the most solid silicon ones I have seen so far were the THS Performance ones I have on my car... sadly it sems they no longer supply these...

Only use decent clips such as JCS Hi-Grip stainless steel ones as normal jubilee clips are not man enough and T-Bolt clamps are way over kill

    V hose...

...the non baffled charge pipe is just bling imho.... no advantage over what you have but if you plan to 'dress' your engine bay then it will look good...

    No performance benefit though...

does the forge come as 2 hoses aswell, as it doesnt mention it?

lol tuffty, sorry bud i am on about the brake vacuum hoses. sfs state its a two hose package, whereas forge doesnt. ive ordered the two upper boost hoses in black from forge. im just wondering weather its best to order the brake vacuum hoses from SFS or Forge. if forge is also a 2 piece kit ill order that one.

    this is what SFS off:

like i said, just wondering if forge also sell it as two hoses

    Ah... with you now

That looks like SFS also supply the hose that goes off to the servo too... Forge only supply the V bit...

Ahh thanks. I'll order SFS kit then. Might aswell get more for my money. Want to try and replace all boost and vacuum hoses ASAP as I have a RR booking on Monday at Ed Motorsport. Don't want and hiccups while I'm there. Anything else I should check before hand to try ad get best result?

Just replace them with hosing? As I'd imagine ppl don't sell exact replacements. All hoses are original except TIP, and dv to inlet mani when I did bypass. I got upper boost hoses and the two that come off charge pipe on order now. Will order brake servo ones after work tonight. I've inspected to turbo hose (red one) and that's all sweet...is it worth replacing though? Only £50 ish.

Main aim really is to get car running spot on so I can concentrate on chassis work and rods
