    Cat to downpipe bolts?

Are they bolts or are they studs? What ever they are they look like it would be easier to cut them and put new bolts in when i put it back together but dont want to be drilling out studs or anything like that if i can help it.

What car dude? S3 or TQS with twin cats has press fit studs in the cats that are normally so corroded I normally have to air chisel the nuts off....

FWD A3's have a different set up but can't remember what of hand..

If you plan to reuse the cat then you may have to drill out the old studs and retap to a larger size to fit some replacement studs... you won't get bolts in behind the flanges due to the proximity of the cats...

It looks like the studs on mine go from the downpipe to the cats. Nuts are on the cat side anyway. It may just be very rusty bolts.
