    BARGAIN!

just had a load of work done at local indy vag garage in woodbury:

    Head Gasket
    Head pressure tested and skimmed
    valves and guides replaced
    new valves ground
    cambelt + tensioners
    water pump
    thermostat
    basic service
    new michelin tyre
    all four wheels re-balanced

    £450
coilovers fitted for another £80-100 next month

    bargain i think

now booked in volkscraft for remap, car should be nice for a while

    (i hope lol)

    Seems suspiciously cheap to me.

    Headgasket set is ~60quid
Head rebuild, with new valves and guides etc will typically cost around £200-250 and garages will usually farm that work out as they dont have the required equipment.
    Cambelt kit is around 70quid
    Waterpump ~30
    Stat ~10
Oil and filter could probably be done for 15quid if they happened to have a big drum of the right oil sitting there.
Tyre has to be best part of £100

So in parts alone your already over £450

Hopefully its a billing error, rather than them having seriously cut corners!

If they've done all that for that price and its a good job I've got aload of work for them....
Stage 0.25 S3, as Audi intended it, except with a little wear and tear. And a few extras

forgot to mention 2 new glow plugs aswell lol, tyre was part worn not new. I have absolutely no doubt that all the work has been done properly, we seem to get a good deal, my step dads business is next door and he does quite a lot of work on our cars
original quote for cambelt kit fitted was £180
next best price ive been quoted for fitting the coilovers is £160
quite rare to find a decent garage thats cheap so im well happy, to be fair was expecting the bill to be at least double what it was

car was in for 8 days in total, most of which was spent waiting for the head to come back
