I'm trying to replace the standard headlights on my 2000 A3 for a new set of angel eyes. Removed the top screws and disconnected all wiring but can't see how to remove the whole unit, does anyone know if the bumper needs to come off like on the facelift model or can this be done with bumper in place?

Had the same prob on mine but for a different reason and bumper has to come off lol

You can take the lights out without taking the bumper off.. I did.. Take off the indicator Aswell and make sure you disconnect everything and just be careful when you wiggle it out.. It is easier with the bumper off though.

Cheers guys, will be starting the job at the end of the week an let you know how I get on. The picture definitely looks like it will help, thanks Customboy! I see the wheels are removed too, is this to allow bumper removal?
