Anyone painted engine covers before? Mirror polishing inlet manifold ?

Thinking of painting my engine covers the same colour as my car Ming blue . Anyone done this ? If so how do you prep and what primer is best to use ?
Also want to polish my inlet manifold .Is it a big job to remove ? I have all the polishing gear .

Wouldn't bother polishing the inlet, it's a right pain in the **** to keep it clean and not looking rubbish. Do a search, I made a topic on how to remove and paint the inlet manifold a few months back.

On a previous car I painted the engine cover, used high heat spray paint.It worked fine and didnt perish
