i have an audi a3 8l 1.8 turbo sport with a standard tape player/multi changer however i think there is a problem with the head unit, often it plays up even when adjusting the volume it goes sky high then off at points, thought about buying an aftermarket head unit but the standard audi one looks allot bigger in length, just wondering if anyone could help with any advice on any that would fit, or any other ways around this problem, any help appreciated.

Common problem for the volume adjustment to go funny... refurbished unit or aftermarket replacement is normally the most cost effective way to sort out..

yeep common prob,i got same prob in my a4. what u can do is get it refubished or buy same stereo but from 2001 -2003 model! audi took care of the brooblem.
