looking at getting 17's. i'm looking at maybe getting a set of S3 alloys how heavy are they.

i got the standard a3 1.8t sport alloys at the moment which are pretty light.

i was going to get another set of TT (MK1 6 spoke) but they are pretty heavy

what light OEM wheels could i get ?

thanks Jay

Mk1 TT 6 spokes are about 13.5-13.6kg per rim = super heavy, but they do look nice.

S3 17's are just over 12kg per rim, so also pretty heavy to be honest.

Seat cupra 17'' starfish wheels are surprisingly light, although I couldn't give you a weight. sub 20kg though with tyre, compared to 25kg for the TT rim with tyre

They do look cool though, despite the weight:

Seat Starfish wheels look good too:

S3's on Jardos A3 on the right, 17'' S4 avus reps on Lous A3 on the left:

Or if you can source a set of BBS RC's (as standard on Golf 4 GTI Ed 30's I think) - they weigh around 9kg's per corner:

These are what I have on my car at present, which incidently is up for sale in the ASN classifieds (shameless plug there...)

The tyre weighs more than the wheel (10KG's for a 225/40/18 Eagle F1 Assymetrics) - still can't believe it....
