Nice work mate, are you even going to get a chance to see a difference with the Mani and inlet cam before you rip it all to bits for the bigger blower goes on

Cam went in on the weekend, mani should be going on tonight. Blower won't be for a couple of weeks really, by the time all parts are gathered and sorted.

    All over the place.
It comes from selling other parts, some money I had saved for changing the car (which I'm doing, in a way) and the bits that I really want impulsively go on the credit card. 0% ftw. Anyway, pretty sure I saw a picture of a massive collection of parts you had?

The only additional cost on top of what I hope to recoup for the turbo change will the injectors as everything else should get covered.
Inlet mani was cheap to do, and I should be able to sell the S3 one on.

Coming from the man that tried to do a burnout in his S2000 but left the handbrake on and ended up smoking the clutch not the tyres

As you can see, mani was fitted Friday evening.

Car pulls really really well all the way to 7k now, with a noticeable increase in performance higher in the revs.

A little video on a racetrack I found near to me Excuse the quality towards the end, another car was on the racing line.

Now if Karl's man maths in Staceys thread are to be believed, you can get a slight increase in comp ratio by using an N/A head gasket instead of a 1.8t gasket.

The question is, will I actually notice a supposed .35 increase in comp, and fo I really need it? I know comp ratio is seen as the way to really push the k04, but as you get into bigger turbo's it becomes less important as it'll run more boost. Opinions?

higher comp in badgerwagen 9.5:1 on its hybrid gt35

its less reliant on turbo spool and boost for response which is why I built this engine that way. Last one was 8.5:1
more torque earlier on this one

Forget the comp rating mate. I was told 300bhp wouldn't be possible with BAM pistons due to the CR

If you're sticking with the K04 you're going to max it's flow capabilities before you need to worry about CR.

Interesting, and as I guess they are probably the same price I don't really have anything to lose. I like the sound of more torque as well.

I'm not mate. Garrett bits are already being collected.

I have found the limits of my K04. About 234 g/s. Won't flow anymore really, probably would with a refurb but not a lot of point.

Don't forget it, Westys car WOULD be better with 9.5:1 than it is at 9:1, it's an unquestionable fact

Not that it's not still fantastic, but 9.5:1 would be better. It's an increase in efficiency, in it's simplest form.

    forget overall power figures.
yes it can only flow so much.

    but

less lag, more torque, more responsive.

there are no downsides. and an N/A gasket is like 20 quid. theres no reason not to

You're getting almost as bad as prawn with regards to bigging up comp ratio's now!

N/A gasket is added to the list.

Until I see evidence to the contrary I will continue to big up the high CR crew!

AGU engines make higher figures time and time again compared to their low CR counterparts.

Lower compression is only ever desirable if you're running into DET, which doesn't happen at our lowly levels with a decent tune.

I think Dan's new hybrid lump is running AGU pistons too, and he's getting no CF's at all at 286g/s or flow, so why would you ever go lower?
