Can't make my mind up which alloys to get i used to have the old rs4 alloys on my car which i did really like but i used to always eye up the new style with 7 twin spokes but am now due to get a set of wheels with some decent road tyres but really cant make my mind up

I have also been looking at ultraleggaras but as much as i really love them i want to keep the car looking OEM (audi wheels)

The car is metallic black and definately want a light coloured wheel (silver) i currently have diamond cut A8 reps but really don't like these so these will be kept as a track set for now as have got AD08's on these and don't want to waste them on the road

Your opinions guys would be much appriciated

Stacey I personally dont think many of the new wheels suit the 8L chassis that well. The 8P S3 wheels aren't too bad but i'm an old school type of guy and like the older wheels.

Post up some pics of the wheels you're thinking about.

RSTT OEM look bestest (imo) ;P

Yeah sorry these are the ones i used to have and cant make my mind up between these or.....

Both types will be 18's but the ones below would have to be reps but the rstt would try and get oem?

These are the ones I meant Stacey. I think these do suit the 8L and there is a few cars in the pics thread with these on I think.

I do also like your ones westy but dont want to have to get adaptors as well otherwise they would be in the mix ;)

Good, cant have too many 8Ls running these babies ;)

Go for what you like mate, the wheels above are nice. Have you thought about a set of lightweight wheels as those reps might be quite weighty?

Thats the problem mate i like both, completely torn what to go for...

I have been looking at lightweight ones but really think i should stick to something with the audi badge

Does anyone know how much the rstt's weigh?

In how the car drives... is it realy day and night between cast iron standard s3 wheels and a set of say Pro race 2?

Tuffty mate - What spacers do you run with the rstt's? what's the offset?

Stacey, try and source yourself a set of BBS RSII's(or BBS RCs like my ones if you must), that's very much an OEM look, you see TTs running with these on, and they are lightweight and stronger than the RSTT wheels. You've spent the money to make your S3 quicker and go round corners, might aswell treat it to some decent wheels to make the most of it.

If you want light wheels the new-style RS4 rims aren't the ones for you as they will be reps only. I had a set on my S3 - piccies below- but they were very heavy and as a result I vowed to never ever buy rep wheels again. I'm currently on OZ Supertourismos (in black). Why are you insistent on OE? The Superleggeras you mentioned are a great lightweight wheel.

It's pretty noticeable, my car has had LCR wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa slicks, Pro Race 1.2's with Falken 452's and a set of Sport wheels with crap budgets.

The 1.2's with the Falkens felt better in the corners and more chuckable than the LCR wheels with £200+ a corner slicks. Much less bump steer with the heavier tires, but a noticeable difference in feel and communication through the steering wheel.

Are they robs old wheels?

Do you mean Rob Stevens with the bent Leon? If so no, they were never Robs. Rob borrowed them from Prawn who in turn bought them from Dan Cellear who in turn bought the tires third hand. I have since borrowed them from Prawn and done a couple of track sessions and now given them back to him so he can do a couple more. Those wheels and tires have been around the block a little bit...

the tires are looking worse for wear but still a couple of TD's in them!

Yep that'll be the ones i was thinking of, didn't know they had got around so much lol

I thought Audi fitted a new-style RS4 rim to the 8P black edition and offered it as an accessory?

If you cant decided, get two of each, and have a different look for each side :p

RSTT and RS4 wheels differ in style ever so slightly.

on the RSTT the ridge on the outside of the spokes goes right to the centre of the wheel.

on RS4's the ridge only goes half way down the spoke.

not to mention the difference in width and offsets

Great to know!
I would love either style so much on my a3... I better start saving!

I've got RS4 II 19" on mine, look like this:

But I'm in the same situation as you, looking to get new ones, and preferably 18", cause these are heavy. Maybe gunmetal?
