Looks like a great idea to me! Also the sump plug being in the steel part, means that the chances of it chewing the threads is slim (the ally ones are a bitch!) I'm thinking of fitting one of these to me A3.
Also, with the price is £108+vat, its cheaper than a replacement sump from Audi!

Ahhh, sorry looking at it I was trying to work out how that would fit to the underside of the car, now it makes sense. Is it a straightforward job? Looks like a long one stuck underneath the car.
Its a whole new sump. Basically its a 2 part sump. The top (or bottom) is steel, so if impacted, it will just dent, whereas the standar one is all ally and will just shatter with the risk of f*cking the engine up! he case of this new one being hit, you repalce the bottom half (the black bit) and leave the rest untouched. This means its cheaper and safer!
