Just to make sure as the guide is not immediately obvious... the pic of the bolt sequence is undoing... doing head bolts up is the reverse of that... so start in the middle (10) and work out when tightening bolts...

Thanks. Just need to get the turbo to manifold bolts off without breaking so going to get an impact gun. Need to mark up the timing then get the belt off and cams out then i can get it off and see what the damage is. It drove fine to the house,it was after i let it cool a bit and filled it with water it was lumpy at idle and blowing steam so im hoping it just needs skimmed and a new gasket.

I have most bits removed already. Just the timing belt, cams and 3 bolts holding the turbo on then the head can come off. Hopefully tonight.

Question - Why are you taking the cams out to get the head off?

No need to do this just for info.

The 3 bolts holding the turbo on.... oh what fun they normally are...

Is that just because this bolts are normally tight?

Yeah, but that combined with lots and lots of heat cycles generally makes for a DAMN tight bolt.

11mm multi-spline socket is the winner there, ignore the 'E' star sockets as the head on the bolts just isn't deep enough.

No problemo for me. I just need to do a few laps of a race track and mine come loose by themselves
