Can anyone help with my knocking S3

As above the car is a 53 plate with 2k on the clock but recently I get an occasional knocking sound from around the rear (think drivers side) seems to happen at any time. It sounds like metal on metal, its not a constant noise but this morning was a lot more regular.

I know this is a funny one but any idea’s before I go crying to the dealers?

Back of my S3 is always creaking. Especially over speed humps. If it does this its probably the springs. Brother is an Audi tec and said Audi technical told them to turn the road springs half a turn. He said he's had TTs and S3s in bits in the past trying to find this noise. Hope this helps.

the clunk at the rear of my s3 turned out to be the anti-roll bar bushes - gripped the arb too tight, resulting in a clunk when they let the bar move -

resolved by greasing the bushes
