Bora S3 - Reverse Light Switch

Hello,

I have a VW Bora 4motion with an Audi S3 AMK engine/gearbox fitted.

Neither of my reverse lights are working and the bulbs are fine, just checked them yesterday.

I suspect this is the common gearbox switch issue and would like to order a replacement.

The only thing is, I'm unsure of the type I need, I was told the engine in the car came from a 2002 AMK S3 but that's all I know.

Looking at ETKA there seems to be a couple of versions of this switch - 02k 945 415 (transmission case magnesium), and 02k 945 415 G (transmission case aluminium).

Then there are also a couple of versions on EuroCarParts.

Unfortunately I can't phone Audi/VW because the car is a mix mash of parts

Bora with a s3 engine, hmmm now where have i seen that before....

Sorry cant help though, I havent changed to a s3 engine yet

IF you tell the VW/Audi parts man that you have an S3 then they should be able to get you a parts number.

By the way, any pics of your bora?

Audi just said it's either of those part numbers but he doesn't ever remember seeing a magnesium one so I'll just go for the Alu one.

On another note, injector seal prices are nuts! £4 for a single o-ring!?

have you checked the fuse and bridged the wires at the switch to confirm its actually faulty?

You know what, I haven't actually...

I just always assume the worst now. I'll give that a check tonight.

Don't suppose you know what fuse number it is off the top of your head?

I do injector seals for the AMK engine for £1.50 for 8 of them if you're interested....
