ebay temp sensors

Are the cheap ebay temp sensors worth buying for a quick fix?
If they are useless, does anyone know where I can find a decent one?

Its for a 2001 a3 1.8t

Think they are only £16 quid from Audi or GSF. Euro car parts may even have them and there is a -25% voucher on their home page for car spares
