    S3 custom exhaust question

Is it worth doing? I like the s3 but feel that it needs a little bit more noise when driving. I've obviously seen the miltek but it seems a lot of money and I could get a custom one for a bit cheaper. I'm sure a lot of r and d went into the miltek but at the end of the day it's just a piece of pipe.......

    Thanks in anticipation.

De-cat would flow better yes but it's illegal and you would fail an MOT straight away. I've got a 200 cell sports cat, you should go for that instead.

Thanks for the replies. Had decats on previous cars and has caused problems with running in the past. I'll probably go cat back and look at a sports cat at a later date.

If you're getting a cat back you might aswell just get the 200 cell sports cat while you're at it and do it in 1 go. Luckily Longlife do a 200 cell sports cat so everything was done at the same time.

Starts off as 3" and after the centre box it reduces to 2.5" as it's really tight for clearance underneath the car!

Just been quoted £550 for a 2.75" system including sports cat so quite a bit cheaper then miltek! Not from long life though, still waiting for them to get back to me.

If going custom dont mess about with 2.75, you might aswell go the whole hog and get 3".

Thanks for the reply. I'm not planning big power and have heard that too bigger bore can cause back pressure issues?

Youve been informed wron mate. Thats only relevant to n/a engines, turbos dont need back pressure, tbh any exhaust setup on a turbo is a restriction.
For what it costa id just go 3".
