Audi Concert Question - Techie

Hi,

I have a Concert stereo and the screens U/S.

I have a donor unit with a good screen but does anybody know if the code is stored in the screen part or the main unit?

The front detaches with 4 screws and has a multiplug adaptor but I dont know which bit the code chip is in.

This isn't a definitive but I'd put money on the chip being on a motherboard in the unit and not the screen.
