    It does feel horny!

I can't wait for my meth to be working again, so the dash can light up like a Christmas tree when I am on boooooost!!!

Beth asked what it was...not sure how to tell her there is a tank of highly flammable and corrosive liquid in the boot. And soon to be tons of it in her shed...

Just spent the week reading through this, many lol's were had but where did this mechanical sympathy lark come from?

Very nice S3 though, it just looks right & purposeful. You do a great job of cleaning & detailing too I think I'm starting to get this cleaning my car bug but with being on a dusty site it's impossible to keep a car clean.

Also, do you know what happened to your previous 8L A3? Jamie was on the same site as me for a while and I was very tempted to get it myself start of the year but I didn't know at the time of this forum or the money/work that had gone into it! Although I think the front bumper put me off in the end

    Top work and great thread!

I always found it hilarious that everybody judged my A3 by its front bumper.

Dispite telling him multiple times Jamie didn't have a clue what I had sold him, so he had no chance of reselling it for what it was

Glad you enjoyed the thread, it's taken up a lot of my time! I haven't got a clue what happened to the last A3, Jamie sold it to some muppet who was going to break it for parts I thought. Shame

Enjoy the cleaning talk, I do. It's almost as good as driving!

    Thanks.

Looking really nice mate, puts my ming(e) blue to shame

one little question, you may have already said this, but what clay are you using? Looking at buying some. Also would you recommend the dark angel wax? or something else.

    cheers.

    Thanks!

I don't use clay anymore, too complicated and annoying. I use a clay drying towel every now and then, and soak in Iron-X every month or so to strip everything and re wax.

Google "clay drying cloth" and all will become clear.

Dark angel is fantastic, I can't think of a better wax for this paint. It adds real depth.

    Whacky whacky fun times!!!

I bought some new **** the other day,

    Chemical Guys 32 compound paste.

A hex logic yellow cutting pad.

    Some Dodo Juice detailer.

    Zaino Grand Finale.

    Dodo Juice Hard Candy.

It's good. I used it all today, along with some snow foam.

I'll go with the finished shots first.

I chilled out with the cat in my car.

    Detaily shots.

    All unedited of cause.

    From the downpour this afternoon.

    It's ****ing broken!!!!!!!!

Brake servo pipe split last night, no brakes and no boost. Boo.

It must have been leaking since I got it, because it feels much smoother and the brakes are hugely better.

Hopefully some cleaning will make me fall in love with it again.

Did 200 odd miles in the beast today, loving it.

Hilariously Bethan let me do a proper launch, and I have only just discovered that if you use the launch control properly; it holds the revs at 5k, launches and holds at 5K spitting loads off flames out the back until you get to like 15mph then you get full boost and revs.

Never realised it was that cool.

Tuffty clutch is the one! Handles nasty launches easy! Takes a little time to get used to but once you do it's lovely! Plus it's got a anti theft feature!! The minute someone tries to drive away in it, they'll stall it! Brilliant set up!

It might be "slow" (compared to Rob's evo, many cars are) but you'll look a whole lot better than a povo spec A3

Snap- that's what I've got coming in the post tbh....

Only reason I'm getting it though is because I already have the SMF from them- and need this done as cheap as possible as the car's currently undriveable as the clutch is not engaging correctly and so can't change gear

Unfortauntely as I purcahsed the kit from Awesome (who didn't mention they got Techniclutch to build the kit for them) they only offered a 1 year warranty. At least this 3 piece kit direct from Techniclutch has a 4 year/40k mileage warranty.

This will be my third clutch in 18 months as well :-\

Free labour makes it worth the risk

I take no responsibility for this btw I suggested the best route, but it involved effort, which as we all know, is not a jardo trait

I expect I'll change mine again early next year for something branded.

Problem is there are a few ways to do it... ramps or stands, remove transfer box, leave in place, drop subframe or leave subframe etc...

Personally never done one on stands as I have been lucky enough to have access to a ramp... I know peeps that have done it on stands and its an arse of a job... if doing it on stands then definitely drain the oil and remove the transfer box...

My personal preference is to drop the subframe and remove the transfer box anyway as the 02M weighs as much as Jardos ego (love yah x) and is an awkward bit of kit to man handle

Need to drop mine off when Bill has a ramp free for a day to sort this crank seal bolt out... not looking forward to it but needs must etc..

I have a few pics in my build thread (around page 20 from memory) of when I did the clutch originally....

Luckily for me my Dad is a life long mechanical genius, has a full workshop, two twin post ramps, transmission jacks and every tool from whitworth sockets to modern day Solus.

He says if the clutch gets delivered on Friday, and I take the car to the workshop (and Prawn takes me back to work so I can pick a trade in up) he I'll have it done by Saturday morning.

    Fingers crossed.

    Blooming hell!

Ordered the clutch Tuesday night at about 1am.

It was delivered at 5 past 7 this morning.

Can't wait to get on with it, going to drop the oil, change the clutch fluid, gearbox oil etc too.

    Also,

    1. Fit the DS2500's for daily use.
    2. Paint the side pods black.

    3. Change the exhaust.
    4. Tidy up the interior.
    5. Get the meth working properly.
    6. Think about removing the diesel geek, although the more I use it the better it feels.
    7. Clutch. Nothing wrong with the current one, just to make me feel better.
    8. Pickup has been done, but I want to flush the engine with flushing oil and run a conditioner and cleaner through it for 100 miles.
    9. Remove the tints.

    10. Space the wheels and refurbish them.
    11. Four new tires.
    12. Liquid gauge

Not bad progress for the month.

I wouldn't remove the Diesel Geek, it's an awesome bit of kit. Going from stock to it was a massive difference. You'll get used to it.
