Hi I'm Mitch. I drive a '98 A3 1.8T sport.

I went to have my car remapped yesterday but they couldn't do it as I had several fault codes. It's also turns out the previous owner has disabled the engine management light.
The codes are;

16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): implausible signal
P0116 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

17978 - Engine Start Block by Immobilizer
P1570 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

00561 - Mixture Adaptation
14-10 Adaption Limit (Add) Exceeded - Intermittent

16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

01247 - Activated Charcoal Filter (EVAP) System Solenoid Valve 1 (N80)
26-10 - Output Open - Intermittent

The thing that has me confused is that I have no physical problems with the car. It's boosting between 8 - 9 PSI, it's not got any lag and the idle is fine.
Any advise into how to fix any of this is greatly appreciated.
( Sorry for the really long first post)

The car probably doesnt have an engine management light.

Before you do anything, clear all of the codes and see which ones come back. They may be old codes.

The Coolant one could be a faulty thermostat or a faulty sensor. Does the guage climb up to 90c and stay there? or does it fluctuate as you speed up and slow down. If it fluctuates its likely to be the thermostat, and its pretty common for them to fail at this sort of age.

Immobiliser ones probably irrelevant.

The next two could indicate an air leak, ie a split hose or similar.

Last one is either a broken or disconnected tank vent valve.

They erased them for me but i have no access to a vag com until Thursday so unsure if they have returned.
Can the engine management light be disabled using a vag com or has the bulb been physically removed?
Thanks
