S-Line gear stick frame?

Hi there,

I've got a new S-Line gear stick for my A3. Says it is for my year (98). However the frame that the gaiter is attached to is much smaller than the original. The gaiter is stapled to the frame. Do I get some sort of insert for this or do I try to staple my old one to it? Please help! Thanks!

I dont think they did S-Line back in 1998 are you sure it's not a gear stick from the 8P A3 range not the 8L?

Do you think it would it be possible to fit a part from the 8P? Or could the 8P's centre console be easily swapped into it?

Use the methods from that if its 8p. Just bought myself the 8p s3 gear knob. You have to staple the new gaitor to the old insert. shouldnt be too hard!
