hi, i currently have a small hole in my intercooler and am struggling to find a decent replacement, could i use an aftermarket intercooler meant for a 1.8T? the intercooler itself is a copy of the forge one. i realise i may have to bit of chopping of boost pipes etc and maybe fab some hardpipes up but is there any reason you cant see it working? also my car is mapped and had high intake temps whilst mapping so this would be perfect for me.

There is no reason why you cant, so long as there is a MAP sensor mounting on it, and you are ready to make up some unions, as I found out a lot of the inlet and outlet unions are different between the 1.8t and tdi intercoolers. In the end, I purchase an aftermarket unit from turborevs (check ebay) and using new silicone hosing to join all the parts up.
hi, kave. do you mean you have the ebay intercooler fitted or do you mean you would try to fit it?
