Much needed advice!!

Hey there people, I don't visit these forums much but i need some help and opinions...
Very simple; Im undecided on keeping, or selling my A3!!

Reasons for selling are;
It's expensive.. i'm 19 so it's £2000 a year insurance, and then petrol.
I work as a tiler, so when i 'have' to use it for work it's gonna get dirty eventually and a van would probably be more useful
I dont drive loads outside of work and when i do, a bmx would do the job just as good
And lastly, i really know very very little 'about' cars.. i only know very basic stuff & when i see some of you fellow forumers' motors they make me wanna cry

My reasons for keeping though are:
It's an A3! i still love my car a lot, & have had it since Feb so really grown on me now.
5 seats
And the general advantage of having a car..

Sell it and buy a van mate, I'd never pay £2k for car insurance, but i guess it's the sign of the times we're in. Save your money and treat yourself when you are a couple of years older... saying that, you only live once. lol

Get a van. I take it your a self employed tiler so you must have a lot of gear to haul around; a van would be more sensible and practicle!

rBuy a van and save your money for a car in a few years time. I always think about a car that I'd absolutely love in the present and then wait five years until the price drops. Mind you, by then you'll be an old fogey anyway

To be honest i think it's wise to sell the A3...
i can afford it, but if i was too sell ide be saving a lot of money... and in a few years like you say i could get myself another car for less...

It's gonna be hard to let go though!

Does anyone know the best way/site to sell a car?
I might stick it on Gumtree as it's free while i look about for other ways...

Any suggestions would be awesome

Trust me mate, save up and treat yourself later in life! im 21 and just bought an S3, but Im in a position where i can afford it now, when i was 19 i wanted it so bad and i couldnt have it. You could do with a van, make your money and buy an rs6

Go buy yourself a cheap diesel van and smoke it for a year then buy something with a snail.

Get it up on ebay with a well written description for £1999 and cross your fingers.

May not be the best alternative to an A3 but i was considering buying one as it still looks good for a van

Yeah i had this dilemma with an old car a while back, I became self employed and found my car was no good as a plumber. So I bought myself an 07 vivaro, 2 years old at the time, for 6900 with 12k on the clock, best vehicle iv ever bought and still have it over 2 years on. In the meantime I bought myself an s3 as a runaround... Lol big mistake

Put work and your business first! Rake some money in and when your a couple of years older you can get exactly what you want. I was patient when i wanted an s3 for nearly 2 years, when i got one it was amazing.
