Hi all,

I am new to this forum, been reading it a bit for a while and love all the useful infos on here.

I have a 2001 A3 1.9 tdi 130.

Started 2 weeks ago, when the car is cold. Start it, go out then within 1-2 min, the car rattles, steering wheel shakes and the ESP warning light comes on. I switch off the car (even while driving), start it back and I'm all good, no more problems til the next cold start.

Started after I got new number plates fitted, screwed/drilled ones, probably a coincidence. Left the car in that garage over lunch to have it done, bit worried they tempered with it to get another customer coming back.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello again,

I've checked all electrical cables without unplugging them and they seem fine.
