Hi can any one help I own a 1999 vreg A3 1.8T Quattro. When accelerating hard (foot to the floor) in 2nd 3rd and 4th I get a loss of power at around 3500 to 4000rpm if i ease of the throttle slightly the car seems to accelerate better. iam a car mechanic but not at Audi ive been told it might be the maf has any one else had this fault. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sounds like the MAF to me too!

Either give it a clean (do a search and you'l find instructions) or get a replacement on exchange basis from your dealer for approx £80.

Cheers
Rich.

high% alcohol cleaner, but for 80quid i would get a new 1, i tried cleaning mine, but it didnt improve, but when i replaced it i noticed a big difference espec in low down pull and throttle response.
