The velvety interior trim around the rear window of my A3 1.8T Sport has worn through I assume because of cleaning.Anybody had to repair/replace this trim ?

So I went to parts dept at my local dealer and the part is only £27 but the fitting will be horrendous and therefore expensive.

when you say worn through. it faded or has actually worn away?

duno about fitting on this looks like a simple bit of trim but could be very wrong

Well I went out to clean it thinking it was dirty but as I was cleaning it seemed to get blacker so I assumed I was rubbing away the velvet type finish leaving black rubber underneath. The parts guy thought it would be expensive to fit meaning removal of the window but like you I didnt think it would be so difficult especially as my rear windows open on hinges?
