a3 1.8t agu throttle body?

as above i done a vag com check on my new car and its showing "17967 throttle body(j338)fault in basic settings" the fault wont delete soon as i erase the fault code it comes stright back up also some times the idle fluctuates between 800-1000rpm also on the measure blocks on vag com the mass meters reading on tick over 2.78 g/s this seem normal?

think i need a new air mass meter as i tried to unplug it but the car ran for a second and wouldnt run then i plugged it back in and went for a spin and waw its like a different car it pulls like a train after 3000 revs up to 6000 really happy with it now i thought a 190bhp should of been some thing like, i dare say it will die off again in couple of days and a new air mass is the way forward?
