A3 1.8T wheel sizes

Hi guys,

I've been on this forum before but back when I had an 85 Audi Coupe Quattro.

Anyway I'm back with an A3 and a daft question.

Does anybody know if its possible to go down to 14" wheels on a 1.8T? I know the rule of thumb is measure the disc diameter and add 4 inches for the min rim size, I did that and it came out ****** close - has anybody tried it? I only ask before I buy a scrap wheel and try it myself.... (its all part of a winter tyre cash saving exercise)

i think 15's would be the smallest you could fit

Yea,

I think the sensible man would go for 15.... just a shame thats not me - the only reason I want to try is because I have a line on some winter tyres dirt cheap but only go upto 14". polo and fabia have a slightly larger offset which increases the chances of fitting slightly since a wheel size tends to increase radially (slightly) towards the inside edge.

think ill just give it a go!
