A3 squeeking noise

Hi all, I have a 2001 1.6 A3, everytime I go round a left hand bend there is a intermittend squeeking noise coming from the front left wheel, everytime I hit the brakes whilst going round the bend it stops. Any ideas on what this could be?

The brakes!

Seriously though they probably need a simple dismantle and then clean all the brake dust off and a little copper grease on the back of the pads, it's nothing to worry about usually.

I thought it could be that or a wheel bearing - I'll get cleaning then! Cheers.

Wheel bearings make a grinding noise usually. Get yourself a can of brake cleaner and some copper grease!
