fuel pump s3 2001

hey guys,

keep having a recuring problem with the fuel pump starting up 9/10 relay kicks in on ignition, on odd occassion it won't. AA guy came out and tapped under fuel tank/pump then it kicks in on ignition will not turn over untill i tap it.... any ideas if its a new fuel pump needed or something seperate?????

Hi mate did you ever get to the bottom of this fault as mine now has the same problem.
