Hey all, i only have the one key for my A3 and the fob was taped together by the previous owner, basically its been palled apart to often and now doesnt hold together. I was looking through ebay and have found that there are a number of people selling blanks with the empty fobs. I undertsant that with a pin i can seperate the blank from the new key and attach my old one so i dont then have to get another one cut however where in the fob is the chip for the immobilser and how do i access it. i have found the small electrical board for the buttons and the battery and they appear simple to tansfer across however my other question is if i disconnect the battery for two long will it result in the key needing to be re programmed. any previous experience or knowledge would be greatfully recieved. cheers lee
