Hi folks hoping for some advice from you good people?

My a3 1.8t on a 52 plate has only just hit 40000mile i brought the car a year ago with a full service history my service indicator shows that i have 500mile left before it needs a service, however this month i have already changed the oil with castrol edge and used an original filter from audi, i have also changed the plugs and i have a green cotton air filter on that obviously doesn't need replacing.

At 29000 miles i had my cambelt kit replaced by audi
ive also had the brake fluid changed 1 year ago.
i brought the car on 32000 mile.

My question is what would i expect to pay to continue my full service when ive already completed the basic service parts?
and if i do book it in what sort of things are they gonna do for the money?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

they will have to do a full service in order to give you the stamp. so they will drain out decent oil and replace with cheap rubbish!

i wont let anyone touch my car now when it comes to servicing, as they usually break something and put cheap crap in. Usually means I go without a stamp, but I write everything in there anyway so it shows whats been done. Would the person rather see the car with kwik fit stamp and no extra info or a detailed list of whats been done, when it was done, and a list of receipts for the products used?

i wasnt planning on taking it to kwik fit Lol, but i get ya point. at the end of the day my car is in excellent condition but it is 9years old, is there any point keeping up the service history then?
Also i can do most things myself what things needs to be done on a 40000mile service?

surely if you book your car just for an oil change - they are likely to stamp it ! They may give you a list as long as your hand on what work needs to be done, but you don't have to do it and they will still stamp the book.

sorry not really getting much advice here anyone else?

i would do as recommended above. your car has reached that age where fsh is less important, but a deailed history with receipts is likely to be worth more.

take it to an approved vw audi specialist get them do the service still get stamp and a list of recipts what has been done.

Where you based? Am sure we can recommend a good vw audi specialist not to far away.....

You've done everything tht needs doing so leave it another 5000 miles then just get an oil and filter done with stamp...if your so concerned about stamps.

do you know how often the coolant needs changing?

Not very often lol. How does it look?
One thing that needs doing that you didnt mention is fuel filter. Other than that youve everything covered mate. You can get rid of the service light, our owners manual tells you how, I can't remember.
