    S3 map sensor

What is the standard one rated to i'e pressure and also is there a performance one out there

Having worked on the odd Ford Cosworth they have a problem with the map sensor and they uprate them to a 3 bar so they can run more boost

Now does the S3 suffer from the same problem?

Std one is a 2.5 bar (1.5bar less atmospheric pressure), I have heard of 3bar (2bar actual) being used but needs someone who knows how to scale it in the map as its still a 0-5v sensor... so it will under read unless scaled... may have a look at this myself sometime tbh as I think it helps with N75 control on high boost applications.

I know Andy @ LVS says mine wont go any higher than 1.5 bar due to map sensor.. something i need to look at now..

Can you run a MBC inline with N75 valve???

I was told the N75 and external waste gates don't work well together, I only have my plugged into the tip, electrical plugged in and thats it running a MBC if i need more boost as the waste gate is set at 24 psi

ask them to explain why they think this..
external wastegate works on exactly the same principle as an internal one..
What they may be talling you, whcih I have also said to you, is your actuator spring rate is way way way too high for any control... nothing left in resolution terms to control when you have a 25psi spring in it.. That sets your minimum boost level sky high.. ecu has nothing left to control.. So if thats what they meant, I 100% agree with them.

in comparison, my GT35 ibiza runs stock n75 valve, controlled by my DTA S60 ecu, holds 35psi when its asked to, and a 44mm tial wg running in single port mode. My wastegate spring is 0.7bar so I have much more control range via ecu. If I need more holding shut pressure, I will just swap to using it in twin port mode.

I would'nt want to map yours with a spring that high, thats for sure.

Whats your opinion on my 1 BAR spring Bill? Thats all i have for mine at the minute but surely dropping mine down to the same levels as yours (similar to oemish) will offer more control? Then just cap it off with a forge UNOS in parallel as tufty has to stop spike?

I have been looking into electronic boost controllers but unsure if its worth it...

Sorry for the hijack Andrew... all relative though i suppose
