my coolant bottle has a lot of gunge in it, i want to take it off and clean it can this be done without totally emptying the system? and if it can what do i need to disconnect etc.

cheers
Scott

Really difficult to clean tbh... tried it a few times... new one is about 12 quid from a dealer...

This can be done without draining... you may/will loose a bit from the bottle but you will need to clamp the hose at the bottom before removal... hose at the top is not normally full of coolant but clamp it off anyway...

Youll never get it looking clean tbh, buy a new one and clamp the bottom hose as tufty said. Expect to lose a little coolant but hey ho

Like above, i got a new one from eurocarparts for less than a £10 delivered :).

ok guys will do that, what do you use to clamp the pipes?

Mole grips etc, any grip that locks out.
