    Flakey Interior parts !!!!

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    on my climate control trim, headlight trim and a few other bits and pieces, if i lightly run my fingernail across the face, it actually indents into the rubbery soft material and some of it actually comes off.

    I dont know if someone in the past has used a cleaning stuff on it to make it do this, It is realy annoying....

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Dude I feel Yr pain. Been on the lookout for a headlight switch surround for months as mine has a White circle around the edge. Looks proper messy. Also my climate +/- buttons are almost White now. Tried to touch up with a little matte paint but looked gash. Also the missus has scratched the piano black with her dangly bangles and stupid ass rings. Grrrrrr

    Most of those interior trim parts arn't all that expensive from the stealers unless of course your after piano black but then you wouldn't have the ruberised trim... I think i paid around £25 for the full panel down the front of the center console after i messed mine up seeing if i could get a good paint finish on it

    I was in Audi the other day and asked about a replacement fascia for my climate control unit. They said you can't just replace the front of the unit, you have to buy a brand new one at £500!

    This is quite weird, my prefacelift s3 doesnt suffer this but my mates facelift s3 is horrendous, his interior is just a joke with how bad the buttons etc have worn away.

    Today I went for a spin in my mates A4 convertiable. It's a 53 plate with 107000 miles on the clock and I noticed how his plastic trim is flakey too. He's had some audi's in his time and even he said he's not happy with the new audi interiors due to the flakey plastics. It's his stereo buttons and centre consol that's be hit the most by flakey plastic. Other than that I actually liked his car.

    Mines a mess aswell

    I actually priced up new ones of these at Audi and they are not price-friendly if anyone does want the prices I have them listed (just not the parts numbers (colour will vary as mine is marine blue). Overall my interior isn't too bad but has been 'attacked' in areas (previous owner had a dog). The seat plastics (sides) I can't do much about unless I look into pricing them up 2mz to see if I can replace them (I'm pretty anal about trying to get the interior looking fresh again as I don;t really plan on selling teh car at any point in near future so want to sort things that bug me.

    This is the only part I don't have a price for as of yet as it doesn't seem to be showing up on Audi's system. The lad behind counter and myself had no looking finding waht looked like the part (didn;t even seem to be a part of the door card. So help is great if anyone knows;

    I'm also after a driver side door card in this colour if anyone knows of any going. Cheers

    My wifes car suffers from "White Out" on radio symbols and climate, it was like this when she bought it. My theory on the cause of this is: Everyone sweats and some more than others and, we all touch these symbols with our finger tips and , maybe some peoples sweat is more acidic resulting in " White Out" of symbols. Is there a CSI in the house lol

    I agree with this. The same thing happens with some aluminium apple products, some peoples sweat is like acid and marks/erodes the aluminium.
