hi folks, got a 99t s3, removed the battery to change a cracked headlight unit and now the car feels down on power for some strange reason, any ideas? the boost feels like its not coming in as quick and someone mentioned to me that the car might be in limp mode, can anyone shed any light for me?

thanks kenny mc

When you disconet the battery the ECU resets it's self, any adjustments the ecu had made, Ie fuelling and timing will have been reset so the car will just go back to factory settings. You probably just need to drive it for a while and it should sort it's self out, assuming like you said it hasn't for some reason gone into limp mode, but you'll know had as the car will feel slower than a vauxhall nova! Limp mode is VERY noticable!

thanks mate, its not as slow as a corsa, thats for sure, but just not seeming itself, will take it for a run and see if it improves

cheers

They usually feel faster after been reset .....

Not if you've run say Vmax fuel for a while then reset the ecu. Then all the settings go back to stock which aren't as good as if it's been run on Vmax for the last few 000's miles.
