Tuffty, I'm stuck at getting the sodding armrest out at the moment so I can release the rest of the centre console.

You had a look at the manuals in the stickies? there is an interior one and it may have the instructions on how to do it...
<tuffty/>
not a nice Job.
not looking forward to doing mine at all but the smell of coolant is starting to hurt.
hope you enjoy it mate.
I seem to remember trying to remove it when fitting my stereo gear and gave up as it was an ****... maybe I just blanked it from memory being too traumatic an event or somat as I can't remember for the life of me if I actually did take it out..
<tuffty/>
Remove it and the bracket as one. While leaving it in the console bit. The arm rest thing is on a taper that must be pressed in with a gazzilion lb press, i have never seperated one yet. IIRC there is an allen screw holing the foot and rest bit together too.
Seeing pictures of interiors stripped out like that makes me want to cry! The mind boggles how on earth do you keep all the parts safe in logical order so you can put them back again....
At the moment I have used masking tape to tape all bolts/nuts to their respective trim panels. I am a bit worried about getting all the wires in the right place when it goes back together.
The plugs will only go with the correct switch or socket.
The thing i'd be worried about is getting the routing wrong and effecting the length of the cable.
Take a billion close up pictures along the way as a reminder? <if it's not to late?!>
You just love it don't ya mate...î Been away for a while... Havent you got your late night side kick with you anymore ? No show without Punch... lol
I can't believe how much you've stripped her down Neil - that's insane!
Idle doesn't tend to cure the big air locks mate to be fair, it needs to be run at some revs to get the water pump working at optimum.
I really hope that is the case buddy. I'm going to drive it like I stole it over to a site later today, I'm hoping that will solve it.
LOL, I would have thought so. Take spare water with you as large air locks when released often cause a large drop in header tank water volume.
