Windscreen top seal strip-spare part??

Hello team,

can anybody tell me if the black plastic strip that runs along the top of the windscreen inbetween the glass and the roof is a part by itself?

I'm about to get the windscreen replaced and am wondering if this will be part of a "kit" that comes with the glass or whether I'll need to order one from Audi separately beforehand...

The last time my windscreen was replaced by autoglass a few year ago on my old A3 this part was replaced by them as part of fitting the new screen.

so they'd have had it with them as part of a kit for that windscreen...

Mine was damaged and looking scruffy, I never mentioned anything about it, just found they changed it as part of the windscreen replacement. It was a mobile fitting so I my case I guess it's just part of the kit. I can only say what happened in my case. I think the only way you'll be 100% sure though is if you give the company doing the fitting a call.
