I love the S3 but I am honestly no good with cars.

The warning light came on for brake pads earlier this evening and now I am worried about being out of pocket. Like I say, I am hopeless with the car so fitting etc is a no no. and even detecteing which ones are gone, whether it's the front or back (or both) would be a problem. Should it be necessary to do both the front and back brakes? Should I but the pads first and fit them later? Also, I want to know approximately how much this would cost to be done by Audi or another recommnded garage.

Thank you.

Thanks, I'll keep you updated.

p.s. dolphin grey... the future!

Dave,

As Marcus says it will be the front pads that are low.

Pick up the pads yourself and take it to a independant garage. Very simple to do. Got any mates who can do this for you?

Cheers
Rich.

Once again, friendly help is always to be found on here.

Audi wanted 180 quid parts and labour to do this. I bought the pads off them and picked them up this morning (for £80) and a local, very reliable and reputable garage have said it will cost me about 38 pounds to fit them. What a saving, around 60 quid.

Thanks for tha advice, I really appreciate it.
