keeps going dim!!

hi all, my dash computer keeps going dim and then goes off any idears?? it a A3 1.8t 98s thanks

It maybe the dimming resistor/light module

Mine does this too, it also used to do it on my old Cupra R. The new module comes as part of the lights switch and Audi quoted me £85.

is that for the part and fitting or just the part?
