Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
But I have been looking at getting the standard inlets to face the other way with the TB on a AGU (basically TB from drivers side to passenger side). You guys helped me out in another post alot! By suggesting a sharan inlet manifold a long with other idea's and possibilities.
However I was inspired by this:
I was wondering if this would be possible on a standard manifold, would the silicon 3-4ply be strong enough to support it if I was to cut it above the injectors (I have no idea on how much the inlet weighs) or if it is heavy would I be able to slide/fit some brackets in to support it reasonably, if so any ideas against what?
I understand by flipping the standard manifold over the geometry will change, the end branch will move closer to the injectors and towards the direction of the firewall and will move slightly higher/closer to the bonnet, which I will take into consideration.
I know I also need a lip/bead so the silicone doesn't slide off, with this I am assuming the manifold is made from cast iron, can someone confirm this, as if this is the case then I can cheekly get away with making a bead using brazing as it will remain firm and not effect the iron in any negative way.
