Wink BLACK 8l progress thread :)

(SORRY ABOUT PIC SIZES)hello girls n guys thouht id make my own thread seeing as im keeping the car. heres my 1.6 1998 a3 sport.heres all the progress in order .let me know what you think. there will be marmite in this thread so good and bad comments welcome im happy with it

car when i first brought .had standard 18 rs4 replicas. badly kurbed and paint waas flaking. car had 9000 miles on it. nice smooth ride compared to my old xr2i

so first mod for me to do the window tints were 80% all round which cost me 130 from TTINTS in luton. very nice price with life time warranty!! unfortunatly havent got a pic of the car with the front windows blacked out as i got pulled the 3rd day having them then replaced then for the crappy 30%

followed by getting 4 cans of HAMMERITE smooth black spray paint and used 1 can each on the alloys which came out surprisingly well!

along with this i brought the JAMEX coilovers from ebay for 180pounds posted which i lowered to the lowest on rear and 35mm on front so it doesnt rub on ARB.

got some halford h7 bulb cool blue with single led side lights, also a slated grill sprayed in gloss black to match the stealth look.

but then i gto bored of the stealth look and ditched the wheels for a set of rotiform/gallardo replica alloys finished in a diamond cut face with silver inserts and 225/40/18 tyres with black side repeaters

got centre caps stickers made with lamborghini bull and audi writing.

so thats the look at the moment. so now ive gone and put the old grill back on but painted the chrome surround black and left rings chrome ! looks much better!!! aldo got two sunstrips top and bottom! and somthing for you guys that u will NOT like DRLS! :P theses 18 LED ones come on as soon as the car starts and has a dim function for night time use as soon as side lights are turned on. and when engine is turned off they stay on for 8 seconds which is cool

alot of you would disagree but i liek them . im deciding on taking them off and replacing with the black units with them in the headlamps.but not yet :P

changed the audi badge for a smaller badge as the back was debadged but i prefer the audi signs

today got my chrome mirror caps(dont wanna pay for s3 ones incase they get nicked so either way of they get nicked by sum twat at least it will be cheaper to replace). and cleaner number plates in standard font just the place where i got them from in white and yellow so it looks less mess

    .

but im getting bored now so ive ordered myself a AUDI TT ARB so im getting that fitted soon so i can lower it the lowest it can go without problems.

but im looking to sell the alloys and replace with maybe a set of audi r8 v10 replicas with polished face and black inserts. not every ones cup of tea but i really like them.this pic hasnt got the black inserts though.

lowering more once i get them (if i do) then sticking 12mm spacers on the rears only .tyres will be 215/35/18 so slight stretch .

got black indicators on order to as mine has a broken seal and a flyeyes kit would go down nicely on the headlamps will update with more pics soon

Looking well mate. As you said, only thing I'm not too sure on are the LED strips and the sun strips.

I've never seen them before. Well not at the bottom of windscreens anyway. They totally black or tinted?

Good decision getting the original front grill back on. I'm thinking of rebadging the rear of mine, but with black rings to match the front.

New wheels will look mental. Never seen them on an 8L before. Lookin forward to seeing the progress.

Thought about facelift rear lights? They're a straight swap.

grill on front looks much better than the debadged one. love the wheels. lowering stick and spacers will help no end. 25mm on rear and 10mm on front you say?

thanks bored of the wheels now. na only 5mm on front so it clears the spacer and deck it right down till its tucked in slightly. rears im going 12mm so its on the edge of the arch. maybe a slight poke from the alloy? 25mm rear? bloody hell i aint got s3 arches lol

i have 5mm front and 10mm rear and the rear could do with another 5mm to look even with front. may be worth a 2nd measure. i have et40 btw.

edit: should add i am going 10mm front and 20mm rear when money allows which should be about right. will require arch roll though

Looks nice, not a fan of the sunstrips or DRLs but rest looks tidy. Maybe a de-wipered rear would suit it?

just a minor update. FINNALLY recieved my tt arb!!!! jesus some sellers are just unreliable. with a set of top mounts and bearings. should be getting these on friday!! along with the tyres tucked in the arch all round quick questions for you heros. i have 225/40/18 tyre and the wheel is very close to the adjuster will a 5mm spacer clear it from touching? (pic shows new oil breather too).

the oil breather is a night mare to put on will have to remove the part behind it so it can twist in . got these black indicators too. only a temporary fix as my ooriginals were full of water. going to flyeye kit the main headlamps to make them mix in a little bit

just a rough snap from my bedroom window .not very clear though but friday if i manage to lower the car without problems with spacers etc ill be uploading lots of pics

Should clear it. When i put different wheels on the spring platform of the shock was rubbing on the wheel and it skimmed off all my wheel weights lol. I put a 5mm spacer on and never had any worries since.

Will do mate I'll put it up Sunday for you mate so take a look. Going to get black flyeye kit on the headlamps to darken them out so it blends in with the black indicators as the black and chrome clash.
