    Modifying standard S3 Exhaust

HI Guys I`m sure I`ve read a post about modifying the standard exhaust system on an S3 but can`t find anything on the search. Is it possible to modify the system to make it breath better without making it sound terrible and actually noticing a difference.Didnt know if you removed the centre box and made up a more flowing section around the back end or even cutting open the huge back box and `altering` anything can make a difference. thanks for any advice/info..

There is a thread somewhere. You can do anything from removing the middle box to cutting the backbox in half and gutting it which is what I did. I had increased throttle response deffo, and sounds insane

Cut the back box in half, took all sound wadding and baffles out, then made a plate out of steel and welded it on the end. There is pics and a vid in the thread that was mentioned above. Sounds epic at full chat, but a bit boomy when cruising. Was a crazy spontanious decision lol

    Karl is a nutter

The most restrictive part of the system is the down pipe but not a lot can be done with the stadard one. You can remove the small silencer that is near the back boxes on the passenger side. It wont give much performance but will make the exhaust sound a bit louder.

If you ever hear a standard S3 exhaust on full chat from outside the car they sound nice as they are. You just dont notice from inside.

Haha, I'm not that mad. It was only supposed to be a temp measure. But I like it many will get to hear it at any meets this year.
