Engine knock

Hi,

Just got an S3 its a 2001 model with the AMK engine, but ive noticed that if you let the engine idle then give the throttle a blip I can here a knock. I dont know if its actually the engine itself or something else making the noise. But if you just rev the engine it sounds fine no knocking at all etc.

Any ideas what it could be?

Sounds like it could be the exhaust knocking. Due to poor fitting or the lower engine mount.

In neutral? maybe the DMF

Yeah in Neutral, will have to try in in gear though.
